Take Up Space

This piece was made for a Summer exhibit at Glen Arbor Art Center called:
" History/Herstory" and was meant to provoke thought about the differences regarding how men and women are treated differently particularly in education/workplace and career enviornments.
An assertive man would be a bossy woman. An ambitious man is an "Ice Queen". A man who stays extra hours to get work done is driven , a woman with this drive would be shunned as a neglective parent.
After all the decades of women fighting for equal footing is now resulting in many steps back as fear takes hold and a patriarchal ego corrodes our society with more and more prevelance.
We must continue to support other women, speak out TRUTHS and teach our sons to respect women in their accomplishments and play a part in creating equity for everyone
